Your local service professionals at Mr. Handyman of Folsom have the experience and professional tools to repair these and many other drywall damage.

  • Ceiling cracks caused by settling
  • Soft spots and stains from moisture
  • Everyday wear and tear
  • Damage from pests like termites
  • Holes from anchors, nails, and screws

No matter your drywall's condition, our service professionals will transform walls and ceilings with a like-new finish. Since drywall can be replaced in sections, even large holes and other damage don't necessarily mean you must replace all of a room's sheetrock.

Drywall Ceiling Repair

First, the drywall should be repaired or replaced if your ceiling gets wet. Damp drywall can lose its structural strength and become a safety issue. Even if you patch, prime, paint, and stains disappear, locked-in moisture can potentially lead to mold and mildew growth. Second, it's critical to determine the source of the moisture and correct the issue before investing in a drywall ceiling repair.

Drywall Hole Repair

Drywall is durable and withstands everyday dings and nicks well. However, everyday mishaps can put a hole in a wall or ceiling. Moving furniture, installing a ceiling fan, and replacing outlets are only a few of the culprits. No matter what pokes a hole in your wall, it looks horrible and can even be dangerous. There may be pipes, electrical wires, and insulation that can be safety hazards. For your home's beauty and your family's safety, rely on professional drywall hole repair to smooth things over.

Drywall Crack Repair

Drywall cracks are common; many are caused by a house simply settling. Drywall cracks can also occur when sheetrock gets wet and dries. Regardless of what causes a crack in your drywall, tracking down the source of the problem is as vital as performing the drywall repair. You may not see a stain, but a crack can be the first sign of water damage. A sheetrock pro can erase most drywall cracks using tape, joint compound, and sandpaper. If the issue causing the drywall crack isn't resolved, the crack may reappear, and there could be additional damage.

What are the stages of drywall installation?

Installing drywall begins by measuring and marking where each panel will fit. Each piece must be fitted and secured to studs with screws or other fasteners. Outlets, windows, doors, and other openings are measured, outlined, and cut. Corners must be carefully fitted to leave a minimal gap that will be finished with drywall compound. Next, seams must be filled with drywall compound, taped, and finished with a coat of compound. Once the drywall compound is dry, it's time to sand, prime, and paint!

How long does new drywall last?

Interior drywall can last for decades under typical residential conditions. However, water, termites, and other dangers can significantly reduce sheetrock's lifespan. Because drywall is resistant to average moisture levels, it can be easy to clean with a damp cloth. But drywall is an absorbent material protected by primer and paint and is susceptible to damage from leaks and destructive pests.

Can paint be applied directly to drywall?

Drywall is porous and must be sealed before painting to achieve a consistent and smooth finish. Even the highest caliber of sheetrock finishing won't matter if the paint won't stick. If you don't seal drywall with a high-quality primer, the paint will soak into the drywall and create havoc. The finish will be splotchy, the color will be nonuniform, and the absorbed paint can lead to moisture issues.
