Fireplace was 25 years old and decorated with faux boulders. To prepare for new fireplace, entire facade was removed, including alcove areas to left and right of mantel. Old fireplace and debris was hauled away. New frame was built to accomodate smaller fireplace and extend right/left walls 3 feet.
