Brand President Rechnagel Gives Credit to Franchisees.

ANN ARBOR, January 19, 2007 – Todd Rechnagel, president of Mr. Handyman, announced the 2007 rankings to staffers and franchisees at a company rally.

"Each year we strengthen our grip on the #1 category ranking and we continue to grow our franchise system," said Todd Rechnagel, president of Mr. Handyman. "We moved up in the overall rankings from 142 last year to 120. Watch out Subway—the #1 overall franchise—you're in our sights."

Mr. Handyman is a member of Service Brands International (SBI), a multi-brand franchisor offering a variety of home-service franchise concepts ideally positioned for today's active consumers.

"Each of our brands is showing strong growth and it's evident in our rankings," said David McKinnon, founder and chairman of SBI. "As reported, Molly Maid leads the way ranked 83 with 697 franchises. 1-800-DryClean with 109 franchises, came in at 386. And DUCTZ, our newest family member, broke through the rankings at number 418, with 38 franchises."

"This is great for our company, our headquarters' team, and our franchisees," said Rechnagel. "We know we're #1 and it's great when others reward you for your hard work."

Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency! - October 21, 2009

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the "Stimulus Bill" (The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) that made significant changes to the energy efficiency tax credits. These changes apply to products "placed in service" in 2009. The highlights are:

  • The tax credits that were previously effective for 2009, have been extended to 2010 as well.

  • The tax credit has been raised from 10% to 30%.

  • The tax credits that were for a specific dollar amount (ex $300 for a CAC), have been converted to 30% of the cost.

  • The maximum credit has been raised from $500 to $1,500 total for the two year period (2009-2010). However, some improvements such as geothermal heat pumps, solar water heaters, and solar panels are not subject to the $1,500 maximum.

  • The $200 cap on windows has been removed, but the requirements for windows (after June 1, 2009) has been increased significantly. Not all ENERGY STAR qualified windows will qualify after June 1, 2009.

Want more from your windows? Ask for ENERGY STAR.
ENERGY STAR-qualified windows, doors, and skylights save you energy and money, increase the comfort of your home, and protect your valuable possessions from sun damage. They are also better for the environment because lowering your energy use means less air pollution from power plants.
