The customer heard noises in the wall and noticed stains on the dining room wall and carpet. We found water leaking through the stucco exterior of the house. Rainwater was entering through a hole between the fascia board and stucco at the bottom edge of the roof. This area was not properly "flashed" when the house was constructed and water was leaking into the wall cavity over a long period of time. We removed the drywall and found rotted framing, rotted sheathing, wet insulation, and a very large bird nest. This required removal of the stucco exterior to replace the rotted framing and sheathing. We also removed and replaced the damaged insulation and drywall. New stucco was applied and both interior and exterior surfaces were repainted.
