Our customer had roof damage which caused leaks and damaging the interior ceilings in several rooms. Insurance paid for repairs and the customer used this opportunity to upgrade to a more contemporary knockdown texture on the ceilings.
Removal and re-texture is a very messy job and best done after all the furniture is removed and all fixtures, floors and walls covered with plastic film and trim taped off. Our Mr Handyman techs use a wet method to remove the old acoustic, or popcorn, texture to avoid causing a lot of dust. Then they re-tape and bed any areas that have become loose and replace any sheetrock if necessary. Most of the time a sealer/primer like Kilz (R) is used before spraying on the new texture. Our clients picked a light knockdown texture. (See "What type of texture do you have" in the Resources tab.) Then we paint, clean up and you are ready to move the furniture back in. We can do that for you, too!
