Our customer's drop ceiling tiles had become warped due to age and humidity. Quite a few others were broken or missing because of several roof leaks (fixed before we started, of course). With some of the ceiling as high as 25 feet, we chose to use a motorized lift to change out those tiles and fluorescent lights. Other ceiling tiles and light bulbs were reached by ladder. We performed this work over a weekend while the manufacturer was closed so none of their production time was lost.
It is important to replace ceiling tiles and fluorescent bulbs before they become dangerous - especially in retail businesses. The tiles could fall on a customer or employee and old fluorescent bulbs could cause a ballast to burn in extreme cases. It is much cheaper in the long run to replace these bulbs before they turn black on the ends, blink or burn out. Old bulbs can ruin a ballast and that means a lot more cost to you!
