Repair Services donated to the Lazarus House
To celebrate the Mr. Handyman 2010 National Day of Service and to give back to the community, Handyman of Naperville will perform nearly 90 hours of repair and maintenance jobs for families in need in St. Charles, Illinois -- all without collecting a single penny.
As part of President Obama's request to renew America through volunteerism, Mr. Handyman, a full-service home repair and maintenance franchise and the No. 1 employer of handymen nationwide, will partner with food banks, children's hospitals and everything in between during their National Day of Service on September 10.
Locally, Mr. Handyman of Naperville will donate nearly 90 hours of service to The Lazarus House -a local homeless shelter for families and high-risk individuals. In total, Mr. Handyman will supply 10 technicians to upgrade the home and improve their quality of life.
"We are always looking for ways to give back to our community, and we are thrilled to be working with The Lazarus House," said Cathy Lins, co-owner of Mr. Handyman of Naperville.
Mr. Handyman company executives at the franchise system's national headquarters aim to donate more than 500 hours of work to homeless shelters, hospitals, senior care centers, schools and churches, as well as non-profits and other community service organizations.
"Mr. Handyman is an international brand, made up of entrepreneurs who live and work in local communities," said Todd Recknagel, president and chief executive officer of Mr. Handyman, International. "We hope to come together as a group and make a large-scale impact on a single day."
