Fall Bonfire Pie Iron Recipes

After Labor Day weekend, it always begins to feel like fall. The kids are back in school, football is on TV, and it's starting to get darker a little earlier each night. With a little more of a nip in the air and the darker skies, now is the perfect time to build a warm bonfire in the backyard.

And the nice thing about a relaxing bonfire is that you can also cook dinner and dessert! All you need are a few ingredients and a trusty pie iron!

A pie iron can be a bonfire's best friend. It's the perfect tool to create a fun and yummy hot meal for you and your family. Here are some of Mr. Handyman's favorite recipes:

Chicken Cordon Bleu Toaster Sandwich

This sandwich is a snap! Here's what you need:

  • Hamburger Buns
  • Chicken Lunchmeat
  • Ham Lunchmeat
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Butter

  • Bread
  • Pepperoni
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Shredded Mozzarella
  • Butter

Grease both sides of the pie iron with butter. Lay pieces of bread on both sides of the pie iron. Add desired amounts of pizza sauce, pepperoni, and shredded mozzarella. Close the pie iron and heat until warmed through and cheese is nice and melty.
