Mr. Handyman Says: Merry Christmas!

As you sit down with your morning cup of OJ, or coffee, to read this, we’re preparing to enter the Christmas weekend.  The tree should be up, presents wrapped, cards mailed out and now all we must do is spend time with friends and family for the next few days.

Yeah, right.

Maybe in It’s a Wonderful Life, but in the real world the next two days are a chaos of frantic preparations.

Go into this with the right attitude, view this as part of the season, do those final preparations and time with friends and family will be here soon enough.

All of us here at Mr. Handyman want to thank everyone that allowed us into their homes and businesses this year.  We very much appreciate your business and the trust you place in us, and we’re committed to not letting you down.

Looking back, 2017 has been an adventure.  We moved offices in late February and we’re still working our way through change of address issues.  I’ve moved my family cross country and faced nowhere near the challenges we faced moving three blocks this year.  That said, we’ve got more space for people and stuff.  We no longer have material for jobs piled in the corner, nor does the last person to arrive for staff meetings need to stand.  All in all, we’re in a much better place.

Irma was our excitement in September and we’re still feeling the effect.  So are many of you, unfortunately, as work on damaged homes will continue for quite some time.

On the plus side we received our 6th consecutive Super Service Award from Angie’s List early in 2017.  Being recognized as one of their top service providers based on reviews and customer feedback is always special.  Receiving this recognition for the 6th consecutive year was icing on the cake.

We also were recognized by Jacksonville.com and the Florida Times Union with their Bold City Best Award for Home Improvement and Repair.  Again, this is a customer feedback based award and we’re proud to have won this award for a second year in a row.

The plaques on the wall are nice, and the staff is rightfully proud, but we’re also humbled to have been in almost 1,600 homes and businesses this year.  For most, their home is their sanctuary.  That most special place with their family, belongings, and memories.

It’s your refuge during stressful times, and most don’t let just anyone into that home.  Knowing this, we take the invitation into your home seriously.  We arrive on-time, and over-protect things with drop-clothes or plastic, depending on what we are doing.  We cleanup when we’re done, and we back our work with our Done-right Guarantee®.  While issues are rare, if something isn’t right, we simply return and fix it.

Thank you for allowing us into your home or business, and we sincerely wish you and your family a safe, enjoyable, and Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
