The person who came out to our home was Jason. I wanted to call him John as he is as big as John Goodman. Tall fella I get to look up to, which is rare as I'm about 6'4". The issue was our banister had been damaged by a furniture delivery company. Effectively nicked in several places. Jason was able to touch up everything. The surprise was that he was able to fill one that was chipped. I fully expected the banister to have to be sanded, blended and and a huge chore. He had the skills and personality to work with us beyond our expectations, hence the five stars. If you look at my other reviews, five stars are not common. Fair and equitable reviews are my thing. I called Mr. Handyman last month to assemble and install a flat-packed wall bed (Murphy bed) that I purchased. Scott showed up on time and started assembling what was a stack of boards, a pile of screws, and various hardware. The description from the bed company said that, "two people with the right tools and talent can build and install the wall bed in a day." Since Scott had no helper I wasn't sure that it would be finished by the end of the day. (I did offer to lend an extra set of hands, but he politely refused.) To my amazement, he had the bed perfectly installed in less than 4 hours. During the process, I found him to be personable and interesting. His life experiences are varied and all add to his ability to problem solve, work efficiently, and complete projects skillfully. He completed another project before he left, which was installing a small, wall-mounted wine rack. I was so pleased with his work, I called Mr. Handyman again today and requested that Scott return to install a light fixture and discuss another project that I need to have completed in the near future. I was able to get an appointment within 2 business days (the same time frame for scheduling that was offered for last month's appointment). As another reviewer said, "These guys are awesome!" They schedule jobs quickly, show up on time, are polite and professional, and most importantly do a great job. They really do follow their motto of "On time. Done right."

These guys are awesome! This was the second time we've had work done by them and I'm just as happy with the experience as I was the first time. First of all, they actually call you back quickly! Seems like a simple thing but after dealing with several other people over the years this is not the norm. We've had them do demo, electrical, installing baseboards and flooring, weather stripping on doors, among other things. I'm pretty sure they do it all. Here's how it worked for us both times: Tom came out to get the details of the work we needed. In a day or two we had a quote and were able to get on his schedule within two weeks. He sends out different men from his team to do the work, depending on what it is. We've worked with three of them so far and they have all been very professional and have done excellent work. And they actually showed up on time every time! Again, not the norm. They pay attention to details and the jobs done have actually exceeded my expectations. Best part- everything has been done within the budget!! I cannot thank them enough for being so professional and doing what they say they'll do within my budget and not tacking on extra charges at the end of the job. I will always use them if I need a handyman service.
