Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I would just like to say that Robert Bysina from Mr. Handyman, did an "EXELLENT" job in buying and installing my bifold closet door. He chose a beautiful replacement door for where my washer & dryer is stored. He was very professional, friendly and personable. Mr. Handyman is so lucky to have someone as professional and knowledgeable as Robert to work for your company. I would definitely recommend him and your company to other customers. He has done work for me previously, and I have been extremely satisfied with his work ethic. Nancy Morey

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Kassi scheduled our work very promptly and another staff member followed up on the details. Everything went smoothly on the day, and took less time than I expected. John was friendly and efficient — taking care of business in short order. Replacing the light fixtures by our front door was a little tricky re: the cedar siding, but he effortlessly adapted the installation to the situation. Perfect! The old wooden post mailbox was rotted and barely standing…he took it all away, dug a deep new hole and installed the steel post, using quick setting concrete, and fitted the new mailbox. He even scalped some sod to leave on top… When John was finished, you would have thought the mailbox had always been there. I plan on calling on Mr. Handyman, and John, in the future.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆We have had good experiences with Mr. Handyman in the past and recently had a very positive experience with our porch redo. All was very professional, from Noel's initial estimate and check-ins through to Jon's careful work on the project. Jon did an efficient, professional job and paid attention to detail in the trim and taking care to match our pavers in expanding the walkway to the porch. He listened to what we wanted, gave very sound advice, and was amazingly pleasant throughout the whole process. We are very pleased with the result!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Greg of Mr. Handyman came promptly and installed a mailbox for my father that I had purchased. He did an outstanding job. While there I asked him to perform a number of odd jobs that I uncovered while visiting my father including: painting some trim on basement windows, doing some work on the front door, fixing some balky sliding closet doors, fixing a light switch, and cleaning some gutters I was very pleased with Greg and Mr. Handyman and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆It all started with a storm door in need of repair and a subscription to Angie's List I received as a Christmas present. My very first call to Mr. Handyman was answered, I believe on the 1st ring, by Anne. A VERY good beginning and 1st impression. She voluntarily explained their employee vetting process without me having to ask…..a clear sign to me that this employer is proud of the employees and their skills. I was able to schedule Mr. Landis at a mutually convenient time to repair the storm door. He was a joy. Prompt, personable, skilled, quickly diagnosing the problem, and thorough in every way. During my initial conversation with Anne, I mentioned I had other items needing attention. She recommended I make a list and do a walk through while Mr. Landis was here which worked out perfectly. I e-mailed Anne the list; we e-mailed back and forth a time or 2, but when I had more questions unsuited to e-mail, she graciously agreed to make a phone appointment with me @ 7:30 one morning before I had to start seeing patients… again.. for me, it worked out perfectly and all my questions that could be answered @ that time were handled. Based on the pricing rates contained on the original invoice, which by the way was meticulous, we were very, very close in our cost estimates. Because of my work, I need long lead time to be away from my Clinic and arrange coverage. This first encounter was in Mid-March and I was able to schedule the additional work without difficulty for 2 consecutive days in the beginning of May. The day arrived after a confirmation phone call from Bruce, and so did Michael and Anne.. not only promptly, but early. We did a quick walk-through and they tackled Day 1. They brought a stunning work ethic not often seen these days; self-directed, internally driven, collegial and collaborative; truly mature, experienced and skilled professionals. My first priority was the dining room and as it turned out, it was "bigger than a breadbox" with much more extensive damage from birds nesting under the window a/c unit. Long story short… needed a new a/c unit, new sill, a new window, AND a creative solution to keep out more "nesters". They could have just 'told me that" and left it, but no… not only did we use my iPad to go on line to find the proper size unit recommended in Consumer Reports + the closest location for me to get it, but they also made several calls to find a vendor for the new (not "off the shelf") window, ordered it for me, had it delivered to them, and scheduled a 3rd day for installation. Let me give you another example….the stairway down the basement. I had a "small repair" to the ceiling listed; Anne took one look @ it and said "Oh… this needs to be fixed…" and so not only did she "fix" the ceiling, but stripped the tape from the drywall, scraped, re-taped and spackled it, but after it was dry and before she sanded it, she completely taped off the bottom of the stairs with floor to ceiling plastic drop cloths to protect the clothes stored there and put on 2 coats of paint! Day 2 proceeded apace + a bit more than the 8 hours for each of them. Did I mention that not one single moment of those days was wasted? Tasks were handled concurrently; there was no "disappearing" from the house…pretty much everything they expected to need was brought with them and at hand… no "oops…I have to go out to the truck." They were completely focused, disciplined, diligent multi-taskers and personally delightful to have in my home. Clean-up? meticulous; not a paint drop, not a wood chip; all the trash carefully bagged and taken outside for pick-up and after they vacuumed up the last speck, I'd be willing to say it was cleaner than when they arrived! Day 3 was a week later, again preceded by a confirmation call that the window was in and Mr. Landis would be coming the following morning. Same smooth, expert performance; old window OUT; new window IN including custom cut sill and fitting like a glove; old a/c OUT; new unit in, caulked, pitched perfectly, seams sealed and taped…no more BIRDS! and just in time for those 4, 90+ degree days we had. I could go on, but am running out of superlatives. I've shared my experiences of course, with family and friends, e-mailed fotos of before and after, and snail-mailed the "checklist" of available services not only to others here in NJ, but to Houston, LA and Seattle… even with my patients when they've asked "So how did it go???" This experience was like watching 2 executive chefs, working in concert, seamlessly preparing an elaborate, multicourse meal and having each offering come to the table perfectly prepared, exquisitely plated and ALL AT THE RIGHT TIME! It was amazing…………… Just a hint… they are VERY organized and so I'm glad I tried to be as well; made a list, did the walk-through, asked questions, planned ahead, elicited their recommendations and had purchased all the supplies I could to make the work go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About Carpentry Services in Far Hills, NJ
For 30 years, Mr. Handyman professionals have been helping homeowners and businesses repair, maintain, and enhance their spaces. We are a one-stop solution for everything on your to-do list. This includes answering your questions about home repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Here are answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about carpentry services in Far Hills, New Jersey.
-
From carpentry installation to precision carpentry repair, we handle a wide range of projects designed to improve the look and function of your home’s wood features. These services often involve updating interior trim, repairing deteriorated wood, installing decorative molding, and completing precise carpentry installation work that improves both appearance and function. When installing new trim or molding, careful planning helps ensure consistent spacing, smooth transitions, and a polished appearance throughout the space. When carpentry repair or installation is on your to-do list in Far Hills, we’re here to evaluate the scope and outline a plan that works for you.
-
Yes, our carpentry services include restoring damaged or loose trim, baseboards, and decorative crown molding. In certain cases, the solution may involve replacing damaged segments before reinstalling trim so the finished result blends properly. Since materials, profiles, and finishes can differ from room to room, we look at alignment and condition first so any repair or partial replacement blends with the surrounding trim and molding. From minor trim damage to more noticeable molding issues, homeowners in Far Hills can reach out for a thoughtful carpentry repair or replacement assessment.
-
Yes. Our carpentry services include both carpentry repair and new trim installation to maintain, restore, and enhance finished wood features throughout your home. This may involve repairing damaged baseboards and molding, replacing worn sections of trim, or completing crown molding installation and other trim installation projects as part of a room update. Because trim and molding vary by home and room, careful measurement and planning help ensure that repairs or new installations blend properly. For dependable carpentry services in Far Hills, we’re ready to assess your project and outline practical options.
-
Crown molding installation generally starts with a quick evaluation of the room and preparation of the workspace. A carpenter measures wall and ceiling lines, checks corners and angles, and plans the best layout for the molding. This preparation helps ensure trim pieces align properly and create a consistent, professional appearance once installed. Next, the crown molding installation process involves precise measuring, cutting, and fitting of each molding piece. A skilled service professional uses specialized tools to make accurate angle cuts so the molding fits tightly at corners and joints. Each section is secured carefully to the wall and ceiling framing so the molding sits evenly and remains stable over time. During installation, the skilled service professional may also complete minor carpentry repair if necessary. Uneven surfaces, small gaps, or existing trim issues may need adjustment before the molding is installed. These corrections help ensure the finished result blends naturally with surrounding trim installation and interior details. After installation, the final steps typically include filling nail holes, smoothing joints, and checking alignment. These finishing touches prepare the molding for painting or finishing. Professional carpentry services focus on clean installation so crown molding enhances the room’s appearance.
-
Each trim installation project has its own timeline, shaped by layout conditions and design features. Crown molding installation often involves additional corner work compared to flat baseboard trim projects. Room layout, trim style, and the condition of current materials all factor into how installation is planned and executed. If you’re planning trim installation in Far Hills, your locally owned and operated Mr. Handyman can evaluate your space and provide a clear outline of the scope before work begins.
-
When selecting a local carpenter, begin by evaluating their experience with your type of project. Some carpenters focus on carpentry repair work, while others specialize in carpentry installation projects like trim installation or crown molding installation. Hiring the right specialist can improve the final outcome. It’s also helpful to review the range of carpentry services available. A qualified carpenter handyman should be comfortable handling both carpentry installation and repair work, from installing trim to repairing damaged wood features. A versatile professional can often complete multiple improvements during one visit. Professional communication is another key consideration. A reliable carpenter should provide a clear estimate, explain the project timeline, and answer any questions about materials or installation techniques. Quality carpentry services prioritize transparency and planning. Finally, look for a carpenter who values quality work. Precise cutting, careful fitting, and proper installation techniques are essential for long-lasting results. An experienced local carpenter can ensure trim and molding are installed neatly and securely.
