Our storm door blew off our front door during one of the recent wind storms, and Jon from Mr. Handyman of S.Orange/Westfield/ScotchPlains/Metuchen came to the rescue! He first helped with deciding what to order for a replacement door (Andersen Series 3000–special order), which we ordered, gave us the labor estimate & then returned to do the install. Jon is a skilled professional: he does meticulous carpentry work and can make on-the-spot work arounds that always arise when doing installs on old houses. Best of all, he has a wonderful, helpful demeanor. We appreciate that the manager of Mr Handyman also squeezed us into the schedule once the special order door arrived. We will continue to use this Mr Handyman and recommend them to all our friends.

This is my first experience using a contractor without any personal recommendations. Contractor was not aware of local parking conditions in Hoboken and attempted to try and find parking for over an hour before giving up. I sympathize, however, the very same morning I had another contractor find parking with no issues. We rescheduled the schedule date where I paid for a permit to park in front of building with no further issues. The work scheduled went very well. It was to strip out old sheetrock and replace with new sheetrock, insulation, taping/spackling while replacing base molding. We added a second project on the spot which was to replace a standard shower head with a shower tower. All work was performed cleanly and efficiently as work is performed on a time and material basis. I consider overall price slightly high, however, feel its okay when you have a responsible contractor. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
