The contact staff was very helpful and friendly. It was easy to explain my projects and needs. They thought of everything, including parts needed. They even emailed a photo of the technician before he arrived. Scott was professional, interested in the projects, experienced, helpful, and efficient. He went out of his way to take care of anything I had concerns about, beyond what I had originally asked for. He had the parts needed on hand, too! I will absolutely ask for Scott again once I collect my next 'to-do' list, although I'm sure all the technicians are also excellent.

Clay was absolutely 150% on the job. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciated his professionalism, his hustling, and his desire to do a perfect job. I was impressed. The price was pretty steep, but I don't have anything to compare it with, so who knows how much the others would have charged. Also, he said that the copper pipes that he used to replace the old ones cost $200. We had a leak in the water heater pipes that caused moisture ants to find a home in our crawl space. I phoned around to find a handyman service and everybody was booked out. Mr Handyman did not get the best ratings on Angie's List and wasn't my first choice, but they were the ones who responded quickly, sent someone to assess the problem. He estimated that the repair would be between $400 and $850, told me how the problem would be fixed and I decided to hire them. They scheduled me for an appointment one and a half weeks into the future. But the leak had been there for a while and I did not need a super-quick response, so that worked for me. On the day of the service, Clay was there almost half hour before the scheduled time and didn't stop working until he left almost 8 hours later. He had to drain the water heater and cut the drywall. According to him, the pipes that went from the water heater into the wall and from there into the crawl space had been sagging and ended up sitting on concrete, which caused a leak over time. He cut the pipes on the side of the garage (where the water heater is) and in the crawl space. Then he installed new pipes between the wall and the water heater. He took out all the dry rot and put a piece of wood in for the pipes to go through (so they wouldn't sit on concrete). Then he resoldered the pipes together. Everything seemed to go well until he turned the water back on, which showed a leak. He was hustling to get the leak fixed and seemed to get it all to where it was dry. However, the next day I went into the crawl space and discovered a pretty steady leak. I called them again and they quickly sent Clay to take care of it immediately. He came within 30 minutes and went right to work. After checking a number of things and resoldering the pipes, he found that part of the pipe was defective. So he cut that out. But this didn't completely solve the problem. It took Clay almost 4 hours to make sure everything was fixed. The whole time, he was very gracious and professional. While fixing the problem, he saw that the main water line was sagging and he installed copper hooks to hook it back up. He also sprayed lots of wood preservative to help the moisture in the wood (from the new leak) dry out. He told me that the Mr. Handyman service guaranteed their work for 1 year and not to hesitate to call again if there was a problem. Later that day I realized that the water pressure in the kitchen seemed low. I checked the water shutoff and the faucet over the water heater, then discovered a leak at the water heater faucet. I called him and he came within about 30 minutes. He told me that that faucet must have come loose with all the work on the water heater and that he had not touched it that day. But he quickly fixed it and again was very gracious. Clay is a hard worker and very professional. I would hire him again.

We were hooked up with them through Home Depot because they couldn't do the install themselves. The office person, Cindy, was wonderful, helpful and understanding (I had been through a lot and was upset that Home Depot didn't show up when they were supposed to). I was scheduled for the next day and they even picked up the microwave from Home Depot for me. The installer showed up on time and did a great, quick job.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drywall Repair & Drywall Installation in Canyon Park, WA

Mr. Handyman has been helping homeowners and businesses repair, maintain, and enhance their spaces for 30 years! We are the one-stop solution for everything on your to-do list. This includes answering your questions about home and business repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Here are answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about drywall repair and drywall installation.

  • Walls and ceilings that show dents, cracks, nail pops, or punctures are clear signs you may need drywall repair. While minor settling cracks are typical, larger or expanding cracks can indicate structural or moisture-related problems. Small blemishes may be corrected with drywall patching, but bigger impact damage often requires expert drywall finishing to achieve a smooth result. Stains, sagging areas, and peeling paint often indicate water damage behind your walls or ceilings. Because moisture weakens drywall from the inside, drywall patching may not fully resolve the issue. In many cases, sections must be removed and new drywall installation completed once the leak is corrected. Uneven wall texture, raised seams, or separating joint tape often signal failing drywall finishing. Over time, humidity and settling can cause seams to shift. An experienced handyman for drywall can secure the joints and refinish the surface for a seamless look. When drywall damage is widespread, involves overhead surfaces, or follows plumbing issues, it’s best to seek professional drywall repair. Experienced drywall contractors can reinforce the structure and prevent ongoing deterioration.

  • Drywall cracks and holes usually keep coming back because the underlying issue wasn’t fully addressed during the original drywall repair. Simply applying drywall patching compound may fix the surface temporarily, but if movement, moisture, or installation problems remain, the damage will reappear in the same spot. Structural movement and settling create stress along seams. If drywall installation wasn’t properly secured, cracks can return. Poor drywall finishing compounds may also fail. Moisture is another major factor. Humidity swings, plumbing leaks, or roof issues can cause drywall to expand and contract, weakening joints and creating soft spots. In these cases, professional drywall repair requires fixing the moisture source before refinishing. High-traffic impacts can also cause recurring holes if the prior drywall hole repair wasn’t reinforced properly. Skilled drywall contractors can strengthen the area to prevent future damage.

  • For minor wall damage, drywall patching restores the surface without replacing entire panels. The repair is secured, finished, and smoothed to match the surrounding area. If drywall has widespread damage or weakened framing support, full drywall installation provides a more durable solution than repeated drywall repair. More severe drywall repair situations may involve removing damaged areas and completing new drywall installation to prevent ongoing issues. A thorough inspection allows your drywall service provider to recommend the most effective approach for restoring both performance and appearance.

  • To prepare for drywall service, remove artwork and fragile items and create several feet of open space around the repair zone. Adequate clearance supports safe drywall repair and installation work. Fine particles from drywall finishing can settle beyond the repair zone. Preparing the space and reviewing dust control procedures helps protect your home during drywall service. If drywall repair is related to water damage, confirm that the source of moisture has been fully resolved before drywall installation or drywall finishing begins. Ongoing leaks from plumbing, roofing, or HVAC systems can weaken new materials and lead to repeated drywall repair. Addressing the root cause first helps protect the integrity of the new drywall and prevents future damage. Reviewing your drywall repair or drywall installation needs during an estimate helps set clear expectations and supports a smooth project experience.

  • DIY drywall patching often fails to address reinforcement behind the surface. Professional drywall service evaluates both visible damage and structural stability. For larger damage such as significant drywall hole repair or areas that require drywall installation, precision matters. Cutting, fastening, taping, and finishing must be done correctly to prevent cracking or separation after painting. A handyman for drywall can stabilize the area and restore structural integrity. Professional drywall repair includes assessing for moisture intrusion, settling, or structural movement that may be contributing to repeated damage. Get a comprehensive evaluation from service professionals who will recommend the appropriate drywall patching or installation approach.

  • When comparing drywall contractors in Canyon Park, look for clear experience with drywall repair, drywall finishing, drywall installation, and drywall hole repair. A qualified team should be able to explain the scope of work and identify whether drywall patching or panel replacement is the better solution. Clear communication about pricing, drywall repair steps, and drywall installation timing reflects a dependable drywall contractor. Consistent crews improve coordination during drywall installation and support stronger drywall finishing results. At Mr. Handyman in Canyon Park, Washington, drywall repair and drywall finishing are completed by dedicated service professionals, not outsourced drywall contractors, ensuring consistent quality work from a local team.
