Mr. Handyman and Neighborly are seeking a veteran for a Home-Makeover

While I generally focus on Mr. Handyman in this space, I’ve noted in the past that Mr. Handyman is part of a community of home service experts. This is the Neighborly community of home service experts, capable of supporting many needs around your home.

We have 7 brands under the Neighborly umbrella here in Jacksonville, including Mr. Handyman (home improvements), Mr. Rooter (plumbing), Mr. Appliance (appliance repair), Molly Maid (interior home cleaning), Window Genie (Window and exterior home cleaning), Glass Doctor (home & commercial windows & auto-glass), and Rainbow International Restoration (fire & water damage restoration).

While we each have our own business websites, on April 1st of 2017 we launched a collective website. This site helps you find one of our 7 local Neighborly providers, schedule an appointment, and create a to-do list for your seasonal needs.

If you have used one of the Neighborly companies here in the Jacksonville area you will find that the others are similarly focused on sending professional staff into your home to provide quality work and excellent service. Each brand has a great local reputation.

We live in your neighborhoods, and we want to work with you to give back. As the Neighborly community, we’re excited to launch the Neighborly Project as a way to honor a local veteran. Our goal is to help improve a deserving veteran’s home and turn it into a place where they can kick their boots up in comfort. The selected veteran will have their story highlighted in the community. Join us in giving back to those that have given so much.

Do you know a military veteran who was a former enlisted service member? Deployed to a foreign location? Is a homeowner with a family? Is living long-term in the Jacksonville community? Is willing to share their story in an interview? We are accepting nominations through March 31st.

Our community of Neighborly professionals will come together to begin addressing the chosen veterans home-service needs in late April. More will be coming in this space, on social media, and via the website about the chosen veteran, their story, and project progress after the Neighborly Project launches.

The time to act is now. Veterans, and their families, sacrificed so much for all of us and now it is time to give back. There will surely be many worthy veterans, but we can only help one. That veteran may be a family member, a friend, or a neighbor. Maybe the elderly veteran down the street that doesn’t come out much anymore and who might be struggling with keeping his or her home in the shape they used to keep it.

Wouldn’t that veteran be thrilled to have the Neighborly team arrive to maintain, repair, improve and clean their home? You can help make that happen, nominate a veteran today! Visit today to nominate a Jacksonville area veteran for the Neighborly Project.
