  • Will C.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Cody and Dan are the absolute best! True professionals. I had them to the house for a difficult chandelier install and they nailed it—flawlessly. They communicated exactly how it would be executed and followed through accordingly. I have used Cody and Dan on multiple occasions and will requesting them by name moving forward as needed. I would highly recommended Mr Handyman!

  • John M.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

He was pleasant and easy to work with. The house is old and keeps throwing curves so some of the work procedures had to change resulting in an additional days work. We discussed all the changes and were given estimates on the new work to be done. Some of the changes require me to consider options and I will need to let you know what direction the projects will go. Prices quoted were reasonble. Thank you

I paid $626 yesterday to get my end unit townhouse power washed and to have 1(one) shutter replaced. I provided the painted shutter and the securing bolts. It took 4 and 1/2 hours. Since you are billed based on time, not by the job, you pay $120/hour if the tech shows up with no gas for the power wash and has to go to the gas station, the power wash won't crank, the tech forgets to power wash the awning in the very front of the townhouse and has to reattach the equipment to spray the awning, for the discussion and planning in how to best install a shutter between 2 techs. Also, I was told that I was lucky that I was not charged for having a 2nd tech for consultation with the 1st tech and the 2nd tech holding the ladder while the 1st tech replaced the shutter. Also luckily, I had painted two shutters because the tech started using one shutter, and changed to actually installing a second shutter leaving a drill hole in the first shutter. I may have made the mistake of complaining that I was paying $120/hour for the tech to go to the gas station to get gas, and the 4.5 hours was retribution for my complaint. He explained to me that he thought he was going to have to buy securing bolts for the shutter because the clients never have the securing bolts and that he was going to pick up gas for the power washer then, and that I surprised him by already having securing bolts. What professional goes to a job to power wash a townhouse with no gas for the power washer? He agreed to deduct the time it took him to go to the gas station, but it still took him 4.5 hours to complete the job, plus a trip charge, etc. for a grand total of $626. It's a strange feeling in that you feel like you have your friend with substandard equipment doing you a favor by power washing your townhouse with an old temperamental powerwash that won't crank, and that you should overlook the fact that you had to ask him to clean the mildew off of the very front of your townhouse, and it took your friend 4.5 hours to powerwash and figure out how to install a shutter, and that he left a hole in a second shutter but you shouldn't complain because he is doing his best and that you should be understanding but then you realize you are paying your friend $120/hour, a $59 trip charge, etc. for a grand total of $626 to do you this favor. Yes, a weird combination of amateur service at professional prices. I just hope my shutter does not fall off so I don't have to spend more money having it reinstalled. Update: I received a call this morning explaining my concerns. They are refunding me for 1 hour of labor. I feel this is fair and appreciate their desire to have their customers satisfied. Great company!

Frequently Asked Questions About Drywall Repair & Drywall Installation in Stockdale, PA

Mr. Handyman has been helping homeowners and businesses repair, maintain, and enhance their spaces for 30 years! We are the one-stop solution for everything on your to-do list. This includes answering your questions about home and business repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Here are answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about drywall repair and drywall installation.

  • Cracks, dents, nail pops, and visible holes are common indicators that drywall repair may be needed. Although light settling cracks can be normal, widening or repeated cracking often signals movement behind the surface. Minor damage can be addressed with drywall patching, but larger holes or broken sections may call for full drywall repair to maintain structural integrity. Discoloration, bubbling finishes, or soft spots on your walls or ceilings are common signs you need drywall service due to water exposure. While minor damage might seem cosmetic, moisture often weakens the material beneath the surface. Professional drywall contractors may need to remove and replace affected sections rather than relying solely on drywall patching. Lifting tape, visible seams, or textured areas that don’t match are common signs that drywall repair is needed. Humidity changes or subpar drywall finishing can cause materials to shift over time. Skilled drywall contractors can correct the issue with proper patching and blending. When drywall installation has been compromised by moisture, large holes, or damage across several sections, it’s best to call drywall contractors. Professional drywall repair ensures the affected area is secure and refinished correctly.

  • Drywall cracks and holes that keep coming back usually indicate incomplete drywall repair. Surface drywall patching may hide damage briefly but won’t address structural or moisture problems. Framing movement and normal settling stress drywall joints and fasteners. Poor drywall installation or inadequate drywall finishing increases the likelihood of repeat cracking. Humidity fluctuations and leaks can weaken drywall materials. Proper drywall repair includes fixing moisture issues before refinishing. High-impact areas may continue to suffer damage without reinforcement during the original hole in wall repair. Experienced drywall contractors can strengthen the repair.

  • Drywall patching is typically used for isolated damage such as small holes, dents, or minor cracks. The affected section is stabilized, filled with compound, sanded smooth, and blended into the surrounding drywall finishing for a seamless appearance. Full drywall installation involves removing and replacing entire panels or large sections of wall or ceiling. This approach is recommended when damage extends beyond a localized area, when panels have lost structural integrity, or when remodeling requires new wall construction. When moisture or structural movement has affected a larger section, partial drywall installation can provide a stronger and more reliable solution than applying new compound. Professional evaluation ensures that drywall patching or full drywall installation is selected based on the true scope of damage and structural needs.

  • Preparing for drywall repair starts with clearing the immediate area. Remove items from the wall and move furniture outward to provide space for ladders, tools, and materials used during drywall installation and drywall finishing. Drywall service often involves sanding compound, which creates airborne dust. Protect electronics, floors, and furniture before drywall repair begins and confirm how dust will be managed. Ensuring plumbing or roof issues are fixed before drywall service begins protects new drywall finishing and reduces the risk of repeat drywall repair. Requesting a drywall service estimate ensures that drywall finishing requirements and installation needs are reviewed in advance.

  • Surface level fixes may hide the damage temporarily, but improper drywall repair can lead to future cracking or separation. Service professionals complete drywall finishing with long term durability in mind. Successful drywall installation depends on proper seam taping and layered compound application to reduce the risk of cracking. Evaluating structural conditions before drywall finishing supports more durable drywall installation and repair outcomes. Requesting an estimate from Mr. Handyman in Stockdale, Pennsylvania provides clear pricing, defined scope, and confidence that your drywall repair, drywall finishing, or drywall installation will be completed correctly by a dedicated local team.

  • Experienced drywall contractors in Stockdale should be able to assess damage accurately and recommend the appropriate drywall repair or drywall installation strategy. Reliable drywall contractors offer clear estimates for drywall repair or drywall installation, explain scheduling expectations, and outline protection measures during drywall finishing. A dedicated team approach supports more reliable drywall finishing and reduces variability in drywall repair outcomes. Scheduling an estimate with Mr. Handyman allows you to review drywall repair scope, drywall installation needs, and pricing with experienced service professionals.
