First of all, Suzanne coordinated and was a delight to speak with and helpful in every way. After speaking with several contractors I chose to work with Tony Learhaupt whom Suzanne recommended because he just sounded like he knew what he was doing and gave an honest assessment, not hiding possible add-on costs. I was looking to replace a decades old large front porch on an early 1900's home with Trex flooring. He told me that there was no way to tell what might be under the floorboards until they were removed but clarified what I was likely to find in the structure of a home that age. This left an opening that a less honest contractor could have used to add unnecessary costs. Tony did not. It turned out the structure was sound except for adding joists and beams which most homes of that age require when using Trex. A second part of my project was removing carpeting from two bedrooms and a hallway and adding vinyl flooring. When that just didn't work where it abutted my old pine floors, I decided to try something new. I asked for painted floors. Tony listened, changed directions on a dime, and brought in a careful and experienced painter a day later, who prepped the floor thoroughly and did beautiful work on this rather unusual project. I chose not to sand the old floors, so the imperfections were my choice. Sanding added time and costs whereas the imperfections retained some of the historyAll the craftsmen Tony used were just incredible! Hard working and highly skilled. My porch is a beauty and I love the painted wood bedroom floors! Also, I thought it was pretty remarkable that Monte and Mannie who built the porch and Felipe who painted the floors, had all been with Tony for many years, and from conversations, were incredibly loyal to him. The whole project was a positive experience and I highly recommend this team.

Mr. Handyman has excellent customer service, both in the office and when the technician is on-site. Scheduling is very easy, and the office staff is always polite and professional. The technician who has helped me, Danny, is very competent and gets the job done perfectly. To date he has replaced baseboards, filled holes in mortar, fixed weather stripping on doors, and patched holes in drywall. I will keep using Mr. Handyman as long as I can!

This carpentry shop is simply the best. The care they put into their work is unmatched by any other carpentry outfit with which I've done business. They're expensive, but you get back every dollar you pay in the form of a first-rate, thoroughly professional job. The fact is, I can't afford NOT to use them.
