ServPro came into my home and cut a 5 foot x 4 hole in my ceiling to 'repair' a 1.5 foot water stain, then spent the entire next day trying to install drywall before literally giving up and all but admitting they couldn't fix it, then slapped me with a $700+ bill for mold restoration after the technician admitted to my wife there was no mold. Crooks. I was absolutely enraged. Then I found Mr. Handyman of Northern Montgomery County. They promptly dispatched a highly professional drywall technician who apologized when my wife told him the story and then said 'I guess this is hard work for some people, but not for me'. He wasn't kidding. He provided my wife with periodic updates, was kind and courteous; and wouldn't you know it — came in UNDER what they original thought they had to charge me to remediate. Matching a butchered popcorn ceiling is not an easy task, but he did it to a very high level. After paint I honestly could not tell there was previously a hole in my ceiling and he took less than half a day to complete what ServPro couldn't complete in 8 hours. Every single person I spoke to during this job was beyond professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make me happy. These are the folks that deserve our business and I'm so glad I was able to find them. I will 100% be using this company any opportunity I have need for a handyman. Shawn showed up on time and gave me an estimate of how long it would take. It took longer than estimated but largely because of unknow pre-existing conditions that had to be fixed (i.e., the siding was not actually attached to the chimney by anything other than the trim). They work M-F, but he came on a Saturday because he was going to be leaving on vacation and wanted to get everything finished. Fortunately, I could pay with a credit card, and then I didn't have to be there for the days it took–I just gave him a key (no problems there). The first two days it looked like nothing had been done (except the shutters were gone) because he spent the first day taking measurements and then constructed all the elements in PVC in the shop (and painted the shutters there, too). But then everything came together, and it looks great. He really took a lot of care and takes obvious pride in his work. The painting was done by other members of the Mr. Handyman staff (since he had left for vacation). One thing to note is that you should mention if it will take a really tall ladder to reach certain areas (like the top of a chimney for painting) because not all of them have tall enough ladders on their truck–the painting had to be done over two days because of this. I'm very satisfied and want him to come back and do some other trim and elements!

I hired a Mr. Handyman technician to clean and repair the gutters and downspouts of my two story house. He also replaced a pair of wind-damaged wooden shutters that were falling apart. He came within the two hour window that was scheduled. He was professional and bagged the debris from the gutters, so I wasn't left with a mess. I was very happy with his work. He was here for an hour and a half. I would hire this company again.

Technician was knowledgable, quick and effective. Office staff was extremely organized, helpful and friendly. I felt like I was dealing with really good, honest friends. I would use them again in a heartbeat, no question!
