Posted this on Yelp: As a result of a plumbing issue in an upstairs bathroom, my dining room ceiling was damaged. Mr. Handyman sent Sammy to give me an estimate. • First observation — Sammy is a sweet guy, as interested in talking about families as he is about assessing needs and developing strategies to repair a ceiling. • Second observation — There was a very obvious hole in the ceiling, but Sammy saw other damaged spots that I had missed. He was interested in doing a complete job. • Third observation — When Sammy returned to actually complete the job, he realized at the end of the day that the new drywall would not be sufficiently dry if he tried to sand it down and apply paint. He would need to return on another day — which we worked out by coordinating our schedules. He was interested in doing the job right — even if it meant some extra hours on his part. I recommend Mr. Handyman without reservation — and would strongly advise that you specifically ask for Sammy. One other piece of general advice: I already had a lot of the materials that were needed to complete this job (paint, rollers, drywall compound, tape, etc . . .), and only had to pick up a few items from Home Depot. So, by supplying all of the materials myself, I was able to save a few bucks. I realize this isn't something that can always be done (depending on the job), but it worked out for me on this occasion.

I called and made arrangements; asked for and was given their Angie's list discount. They showed up exactly on time as agreed, worked carefully but quickly and finished all the work within the time estimate. I had purchased the attic ladder and casing moldings. They installed everything and checked that it was working perfectly.

They were super nice and really professional. They came out the day they said they would. The guy did all the work for a very reasonable price and he was super-efficient. I was also able to add some small things that he was very willing to do. They were wonderful. I was thrilled with them.

Everything went very well. They knew what they were doing and did it very fast. They also listened to me and my suggestions when needed.
