I had Mr. Handyman come out and they arrived earlier than expected which was great. Aaron J. was the technician and he went above and beyond. Solved my dishwasher problem which was an unexpected beast.

Despite segeral unexpected problems in putting an alarm on my hot water heater, the plumber was persistent in resolving each problem and kept me informed throughout the process. Very professional and conscious.

After I filled in the online form at the website linked from their Angie's List listing (on a Sunday early afternoon), they contacted me within an hour. I didn't expect to be contacted until Monday, so this was a welcome surprise. The woman I spoke with was professional, courteous, and explained the pricing structure, and went over the work I had listed, all of which they said they could complete. There was a slight backlog in appointments (none available until a week from now), but she was able to schedule a time block that fit my schedule that week. Overall, I was very impressed with the fast response time, and with the interaction I've had with the company so far. The work was completed today by a very capable, professional, efficient, and conscientious handyman. He arrived on time, which is definitely a plus, and we walked around the house so I could show him the list of projects. I prioritized them, and he completed them in the order I'd specified, including suggesting a different direction on the repair for the under cabinet lights (which he did not complete, since our conversation led to a solution that I can complete myself, and will involve materials that he wouldn't have had on hand. In all, he finished in less than the two-hour minimum, and asked if there were other things I needed him to take a look at. So, a tip for folks who use Mr. handyman: they may get the jobs done more quickly than you expect, or may suggest an alternative solution that leads to removing a task from your list, so group your tasks and have a prioritized list of things for them to get through, including some miscellaneous smaller tasks toward the bottom of your list if you want to maximize your time. Overall, this was a great experience, and when I have a couple hours' worth of tasks for a handyman, I'll call Mr. Handyman again. Note: I looked up this provider on Angie's List at the recommendation of a friend, who had just mentioned having good experiences with "Mr. Handyman" in general. It seems that all of the locations are independently owned and operated, so good or bad experience with one does not necessarily predict how it will go with the others, although it does seem that they are conscious of maintaining the "brand reputation" so quality may be consistent.
