After spending days research pricing for ceiling drywall repairs, and crown molding work I went with Mr. Handyman. The service they provided was fanatic, and the pricing beat out every other competitor I reached out to. The work that Hector and Wendell did was done in very good time, and they were extremely cool and friendly. I will definitely go to them for any home repair work needed down the road.

Michael arrived on time, spent a few minutes surveying the situation, then set to work. He got door #1 open fairly quickly. Door #2 was a bit more recalcitrant, but yielded eventually. I was impressed by a couple of things. First: Michael knew what to do. He said he has been repairing sliding doors for years, and was confident he could get mine working again. Second: While Michael was worried that he might have to remove the doors and the surrounding molding, he tried the simple approach first — and it worked. So no invasive surgery was needed. Third: Michael did the complete job. Once the doors were open, he carefully adjusted them to slide easily and seat firmly. All of which took one hour and cost me $158. Michael, thank you very much!

We needed someone to install our doors. This meant they would make all the necessary measurements on the initial visit to make the cut outs and hang them on 'THE EXISTING DOOR FRAME.' Apparently using the existing door frame is a problem for some companies – they prefer to yank out the existing door frame and installing a NEW door frame and door. 1 – be sure they know exactly where you live – this ensures they know if you are on the ground floor that they have easy access to their tools because if you live high up like we do, they would have to lug all of their equipment up the freight elevator to your place. —- We live on a high floor of a tall building. 2 – BE ABSOLUTELY sure whoever comes to your place that they get all the details; a) of the door to hang AND b) the existing door frame measurements. This is critical because it is necessary for the door to swing (or not swing but stay where you left it, so it does not drift because of it being off center), close and shut properly (the insert in the door jamb has to line up properly with the door lock mechanism). 3 – We had to ask them to send another carpenter to do one of the doors over and better (the door did not hang properly). So, overall we are okay with their service but in future we would ask for a more experienced person to show up and not someone who is not quite so experienced in hanging doors. I just do not quite understand why it such an undertaking to find a company to hang doors on existing door frames. All they have to do is make the measurements and cut to those measurements…

Promptness of service was outstanding. Worked with a great sense of urgency. People friendly & sincere. Extremely knowledgeable. My favorite part was the attention to detail and providing crystal clear expectations. Very rarely do I see this level of service. This was old school 100% satisfaction type service. I will definitely be reaching out for assistance again and I highly recommend others do the same.

From day one Mr. Handyman was responsive and efficient. They responded to our inquiry for work within 24 hours and had someone to work on our house in a timely manner. The guy we had work on our house (Lee) on two separate occasions was courteous and efficient. He took the time to explain things and was great. Victor and the female who works for Mr. Handyman always returned calls and were friendly and helpful. We would absolutely recommend them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drywall Repair & Drywall Installation in Inwood, MD

Mr. Handyman has been helping homeowners and businesses repair, maintain, and enhance their spaces for 30 years! We are the one-stop solution for everything on your to-do list. This includes answering your questions about home and business repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Here are answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about drywall repair and drywall installation.

  • You may need drywall repair or drywall patching if you see cracks, dents, holes, or nail pops on your walls or ceilings. Minor hairline cracks can happen as a home settles, but expanding cracks or recurring damage often point to underlying structural movement. Small dings from doors or furniture usually call for drywall hole repair, while more significant impact damage may require professional drywall service to fully restore the surface. Staining, peeling paint, or drywall that feels soft to the touch often indicates hidden water intrusion. While minor cosmetic issues might seem repairable with basic drywall patching, moisture-compromised areas typically require professional drywall repair to prevent mold and structural weakening. A qualified handyman for drywall can determine whether full replacement is necessary. You may also need drywall repair if you see peeling joint tape, visible seams, uneven texture, or bulging panels. These issues often result from poor drywall finishing, humidity changes, or improper original drywall installation. When seams begin separating or tape lifts, professional patching and refinishing help restore a smooth, seamless appearance. If the damaged area is more than a few inches wide, appears in multiple spots, affects the ceiling, or follows a plumbing or roof leak, it’s wise to call experienced drywall contractors. Professional drywall repair ensures the surface is secure, properly blended, and less likely to develop future cracks.

  • Drywall damage that keeps returning typically means the original drywall repair didn’t fix the source of the problem. Surface-level drywall patching may conceal cracks temporarily, but deeper issues remain. Normal settling and framing movement place stress on drywall seams. This can cause cracks to reopen, particularly if drywall installation wasn’t secured properly. Inadequate drywall finishing also increases the risk of separation. Moisture exposure from leaks or humidity changes can soften drywall and weaken joints. Professional drywall repair should include drying and correcting the source before refinishing. Frequent impacts near doors or hallways may reopen areas that weren’t reinforced during the original drywall hole repair. A handyman for drywall can strengthen the repair for lasting results.

  • Minor drywall repair needs, including repairing a hole in the wall, are often resolved through careful drywall patching and sanding. When localized drywall repair would not restore strength, replacing panels through professional drywall installation helps prevent future cracking or separation. Significant cracking across a wider area often indicates that drywall installation, not surface level patching, will deliver a lasting result. Accurate evaluation by a drywall contractor supports a repair strategy that strengthens the wall and reduces the likelihood of future drywall repair.

  • Removing wall hangings and shifting furniture before drywall service helps create an accessible workspace for drywall repair and finishing. Because drywall finishing produces fine dust, protect nearby surfaces before drywall repair or drywall installation begins. Cover furniture and flooring if they cannot be relocated, and ask about containment methods used during drywall service. Moisture-related drywall damage should always be addressed at the source before drywall finishing or drywall installation. Correcting plumbing or roofing issues first supports longer lasting drywall repair. An estimate for drywall service allows the affected area to be assessed accurately and the correct drywall repair or drywall installation plan to be defined before work begins.

  • Although minor wall damage may appear simple to fix, incomplete drywall repair or poorly blended drywall patching often results in visible texture differences and recurring cracks. Skilled service professionals apply the proper reinforcement and finishing methods to create a consistent result. Major drywall repair involves more than filling gaps. Secure panel placement and professional drywall finishing help ensure a smooth and durable surface. Addressing the root cause of drywall cracks or holes reduces the likelihood of repeated drywall repair in the same area. Meeting with a local service professional ensures that drywall repair needs are clearly defined and pricing is confirmed in advance.

  • Reputable drywall contractors in Inwood should demonstrate hands-on experience with drywall patching, drywall repair, drywall finishing, and full drywall installation before recommending a solution. Quality drywall contractors prioritize written estimates and clear scheduling for drywall repair and drywall installation. A dedicated local drywall service reduces risk associated with changing crews during drywall repair or drywall installation. At Mr. Handyman in Inwood, Maryland, your project is completed by experienced service professionals who specialize in drywall repair and drywall installation. Requesting an estimate allows you to review the scope, pricing, and recommended solution with a trusted local team.
